"In using different modalities within my practice, I believe that within the therapeutic process it is important to address issues early on upon presentation but to also meet where the client is in their recovery and establish a therapeutic relationship with my client. As an art therapist and having worked with children/disabilities, I embrace the expressive arts as a way to channel another form of communication in therapy since verbalizing thoughts and feelings can be challenging to do at times. I believe that art making can teach clients a new outlet for managing emotions, boost self-esteem and promote self-awareness. My relationship with my clients is one of empathy, patience and in a space that promotes creativity and the openness to express oneself".

"I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way---things I had no words for." -Georgia O'Keefe
